A certified\/sworn translation is a legal document valid in the eyes of any official organization, both in Spain and abroad. This is usually the case for academic records, birth, marriage or death certificates, contracts, public deeds, etc. In order for the translation to be legally accepted, it must be done by a translator recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the languages in question. The translator will stamp and sign the translation, as well as certify the information it contains, its languages, and the date and place it was produced. In Spain, these translators are referred to as \u201csworn\u201d translators and act as a bilingual notary.<\/p>\n
