About agp

We are a translation agency with over a decade of experience providing professional translation services. We take pride in offering the highest quality service, both in terms of the translation itself and any complementary aspects, such as customer service.

Each translation project has its own dedicated project manager who accompanies it throughout the entire project life cycle, all the way from providing the initial estimate to final delivery.

This means we can ensure that each translation project is undertaken by the best translator and reviser, taking into account factors such as subject matter, length and the format of the document. Our quality assurance mechanism meets the ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard and UNE EN 15038 European Quality Standard for Translation Services..

If you are looking for a translation agency or interpreting company to provide the perfect interpreter for your meetings, a professional translation for your products and their customers, or language consultancy to translate your presence on the web, look no further than agp traducciones.

How We Work

Method

All our clients have continuous personal contact with the project manager responsible for their translation or revision project. The project manager acts as the personal intermediary from the start of the project to the end. During the translation or revision process, your project manager will contact you if the translator or reviser requires additional information to complete the job. Finally, you will receive the translation in the format and via the media you requested based on the agreed delivery date.

Delivery Times

Depending on the type of text, it is possible to have a number of translators working on a translation project in parallel although a single reviser must always be used to guarantee the overall consistency of the terminology and style. This method of working entails an additional cost.

Price

Written translations are often charged based on the number of words in the text, whereas interpretation jobs are charged at an hourly or daily rate. Generally speaking, one page of text contains around 300 words; however, if the text includes tables or has small margins, the number of words may vary. When you send information about the text, or the text itself, the project manager will estimate the number of words or hours required.

What is a certified/sworn translation?

A certified/sworn translation is a legal document valid in the eyes of any official organization, both in Spain and abroad. Official documents such as degree transcripts, birth, marriage and death certificates, contracts and public deeds must often be translated by a translator recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the languages in question in order for the translation to be legally recognized. The translator will stamp and sign the translation, as well as certifying the information it contains, its languages, and the date and place it was produced. In Spain, these translators are referred to as “sworn” translators and act as a bilingual notary.

How long will my translation take?

As a rule of thumb, a translator can translate around 2,500 words a day. If the translation is to be certified or is highly specialized, if it needs to be posted, etc. the timescale may be longer, although the delivery date established by the project manager will always be met.

How can I reduce the time required?

Depending on the type of text, it is possible to have a number of translators work on a translation project in parallel although a single reviser must always be used to guarantee the overall consistency of the terminology and style. This method of working entails an additional cost.

How much will my translation cost?

Written translations are often charged based on the number of words in the text, whereas interpretation jobs are charged at an hourly or daily rate. Generally speaking, one page of text contains around 300 words; however, if the text includes tables or has small margins, the number of words may vary. When you send information about the text, or better still, the text itself, the project manager will estimate the number of words or hours required.

How can I reduce the cost of translation?

Technical texts can benefit from the use of translation tools that allow the reuse of previous translations, thus keeping costs to a minimum. For it to be possible to use translation tools to reduce the cost of a translation, the text must be written to conform to certain patterns of syntax and repetition. Discussing your text with our project managers before creating it will allow them to provide you with advice on the most appropriate types of language and syntax.

Alternatively, another way of reducing the cost of a translation is to extend the time scale to between double and triple the required time. If you are in no rush to receive the translation, why not take advantage of this option to reduce costs? Plan your translation requirements in advance to keep costs down.

How can I send documents to be translated?

At agp traducciones, we do our best to suit our clients. When it comes to translations, the way we work depends on the type of work to be carried out and the format of the documents (electronic, written copy or originals). If the text is in an electronic format, the quickest way is for you to send it to us by email. We will find the best way to deliver it. For certified translations, where it is necessary to deal with physical documents, you can send the originals by courier or post, deliver them by hand, or even send a scanned copy by fax or email.

How will I receive my translation?

The delivery mechanism will be agreed when the job is accepted. Translations can be collected in person or sent by email, certified post or courier. We can also provide a written copy as well as a copy on CD if required.

How can I pay?

Terms of payment are agreed during the quotation process, doing our best to accommodate your preferences. Partial payment is normally due upon acceptance of the quote, with the balance payable on delivery. For interpreting jobs, a non-refundable deposit of 25–50% of the total project is normally requested to secure the dates. Please contact your project manager with any questions. We will always do our best to accommodate your needs. We accept payments by cash, card or bank transfer.

What electronic formats can you work with?

Although it is possible to evaluate a project in any text or image format, translation work is always carried out using editable formats (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint). We can receive and deliver translations in almost any format; however, if it is necessary to work with non-editable text or images, there may be a surcharge for any work done to extract the text. As such, it is preferable to send us the text in an editable format, if possible, once you have accepted the quote.

What is the relationship between the translator and the client?

Our translators are professionals with extensive experience in the fields in which they work and are aware that our clients may be disclosing important or commercially sensitive information. All our translators have signed a confidentiality agreement that ensures they will not transmit or disclose any information they may obtain from clients or retain and hand back any material provided by the client if requested.
